A local Chinese favorite was forced to relocate from its tiny main street location. To support its new larger footprint it would need to metamorphosis from a family take out "joint" into an upscale romantic Asian restaurant. Atmosphere created a space that remains inviting to the existing family clientele yet intrigues a new more sophisticated diner. Their answer is founded in the plan, which allows the restaurant, and bar area to operate separately from the take-out area creating synergy without subtracting from either element. Communal tables and playful banquettes reinforce casual yet distinctive atmosphere complimented by custom designed furniture based in Chinese tradition adapted to modern uses. Materials such as steel panels rusted to a particular patina and glass screens with Chinese calligraphy provide a distinctly Asian flavor yet reinforce the innovative spirit that awaits the diner in the unique and delicious cuisine.
